Running and You

A video analysis of your running form is essential in determining possible causes of running related injuries. Using multiple angles, close up, and full body views the runner experiences his own running form as an outside observer.

Slow motion capture aids in proper diagnosis of musculoskeletal pain and barefoot movement patterns. Joint angle measurements are correlated with a manual evaluation of the lower extremity.

Each particular injury will dictate a specific treatment plan that includes building tissue resilience and adaptation, mileage recovery schedules, matching your foot to footwear, optimizing form.

Making immediate changes to your running form can have significant impact on your recovery, and in preventing injuries. I frequently see many subtle biomechanically incorrect movement patterns in beginning, intermediate, and especially advanced runners.

A running analysis is essential at all levels of running to ensure sound running mechanics. The running analysis is part of your comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluation. I am always amazed at how small corrections in running style improves efficiency.
